Love, Yoga

Chakra is the Sanskrit word for circular wheels of energy, which are in and around our bodies. The 7 chakras line up in the center of our bodies. Chakras 8 through 12 are connected to the soul, the divine and the cosmos (www.energymuse.com).

Sanskrit name: Svadhisthana = one’s own abode

Association: connection to and acceptance of others and new experiences; sexuality; creativity

Imbalances: chronic low back pain, reproductive issues, UTIs, addiction, lack of creative energy

Symbol: a lotus with 6 petals and a white crescent moon in the middle

Color: orange

Element: water

Location: pelvic area

Healing Stones to balance, heal and cleanse the sacral chakra: orange carnelian, citrine, amber

Essential Oils to support sacral chakra: ylang ylang, sandalwood, clary sage, rose, jasmine

Organs connected to sacral chakra: ovaries, testes, womb, kidneys, urinary tract, skin, spleen, gallbladder

The ylang ylang reminded me of my Mom. We used to have that in our backyard and she uses it for a lot of medicinal purpose.

I find it fascinating to learn more about Chakras and how each one correlates to the different parts of our body. I love essential oils, it was interesting to read which ones can help with the sacral chakra as my husband experiences chronic pain in this area.

Really interesting. For sacral chakra i see you mentioned slang land and clary sage. I’ve had fertility issues and read about an essential oil mixture that could potentially help – including both slang land and clary sage. Really helpful that you’ve mentioned some other possible remedies.
