I recently attended a restorative yoga workshop and it was the BEST THING EVER!! This class is highly recommend for anyone who likes to be relaxed, uplifted and calm. I wish one was held every Friday night instead of one Friday a month. There were some yoga must-haves at this class that I want to share with you. (This post contains affiliate links.)
therapy balls
Let me just say two things about this must-have: ouch and ahhhhh. Okay…those have complete opposite meanings, but it totally works here. We used them between a yoga block and our neck while laying on a mat. I moved my head in a yes gesture and a no gesture and it massaged the knots out of my neck. There is the ouch. At the conclusion of the mini-massage is when the there was the ahhhhh .
yoga bolster
A yoga bolster is a large, cylindrical pillow used in different poses. In one pose we did a shoulder back bend over the bolster. We also hung our knees over it during a relaxation pose. I will be use it when I do the neck massage with the therapy balls so that I can relax my legs. I have hip dysplasia and sometimes it is painful to lay my left leg flat on the floor. Being able to hang my legs over the bolster is a much more comfortable, relaxing pose for me.
lavender eye pillow
Need I say more about this wonderful relaxation necessity. Put this over your eyes during any meditation, relaxation pose, or when you just want to feel calm and totally relaxed. We used them for all the restorative poses when we were on our backs. Sooooooooo good!!! Restorative yoga is the best:)
What are your yoga must-haves? Please let me know in the comments. As always, I have learned so much from my readers and always love to hear about your successes and resources that you love.
I’m just starting to get interested in yoga. I know it is very good for the body and really nice for back problems. I have been exercising regularly but I think I need to add yoga to my exercise routine.
Yoga is truly amazing for the body and soul
Restorative yoga sounds wonderful and helpful in so many ways. I’d love to relieve the knots in my neck, will have to look into a class in my area.
It is the ultimate in relaxation…those yoga balls are great for knots in the neck
I haven’t really done much yoga at all! But the eye pillow looks wonderful and relaxing, it would be great to use at night to help wind down.
The eye pillow is great for non-yoga uses…give yoga a try…it does help you relax
I need to do more yoga. I know it would really help my overall health. I’m stuck sitting in a chair too long each day!
Yoga would be perfect for you…great for the body and soul
I use all three of these must haves and I love them!! The bolster and eye pillow are my favorite way to finish a yoga session!
LOVE both of the props…they just bring relaxation to a whole different level
A lavender eye pillow sounds awesome. I love using wheat bags with lavender in them for my sore muscles.
That sounds awesome too!!
I need to pick up a yoga bolster to try. I love the way I feel after a yoga session.
LOVE the bolster…I have hip issues so using one to raise my knees helps so much in savasana
I just started doing yoga with my daughters, I’m going to look into buying some of this stuff for us! Thanks for sharing!
So awesome that you do yoga with your daughters….I wish I had started when I was younger
I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about yoga. I should really give this a try, especially the restorative yoga.
Restorative yoga brings relaxation to a whole different level…love it.
I have had my eye on therapy balls for awhile now! Thanks for the great tips!
I put them on a yoga block when I lie down to get the knots out of my neck…so good!!!!
I haven’t done Yoga in years! I need to get back to it, I always feel so much better when I am doing yoga regularly.
I think I appreciate yoga more now that I am a bit older, but also wish I had this connection to it at a younger age.
I have tried therapy balls before and I love them! It’s like a massage that you give yourself. I definitely need to do more yoga to strengthen and stretch!
Therapy balls are great…definitely look into yoga…I do it at home with youtube videos and I LOVE it
I heard doing Yoga will refresh the body and mind. Nice sharing something like this but the “ouch” and “ahhhh” made me laugh.
Definitely good for the body and soul…I actually do it more for the soul:)
I would like to have the lavender eye pillow. Must be soothing when you lay down and rest.
Yes…it is awesome
My sister in law does hot yoga and raves about it. I’ve never tried it but have always wanted to.
Those lavender eye pillows sound heavenly!
I have never tried hot yoga because I don’t do well with heat, but I’ve heard great things about it.
I did prenatal yoga years ago hwen I was pregnant. I would love to get back into the practice.
Try some Youtube videos…Yoga with Adriene is my favorite.
Those balls do wonders! I totally understand the ouch and ahhh thing. It’s well worth the ouch part!
Hurts so good:)
Therapy balls?! Sounds like a lot of relax. But I was convinced that yoga is not only relax, but a lot of work too. I am glad you had a great time!
It’s work, but so worth it
I do some yoga more for the stretching and relaxation aspects of it instead of the exercise portion. I love the idea of a lavender pillow!
I definitely started yoga more for the mindfulness aspect and the lavender eye pillow is awesome.
I’ve done yoga once or twice but I’ve always wanted to do it on a better schedule! This is great, that pillow looks SO amazing. I need to get into yoga more and try it!
Try Yoga with Adriene on Youtube….you will love her.
This is a great list of items. I am going to do Yoga in Bocas as I am here so this was a timely post.
