1 – Trader Joe’s Beet Hummus: sooooo good…if you love beets….need I say more!!
2 – My classroom is 95% complete and ready for the new students next week.
3 – I have the BEST school neighbor, the art teacher….we are both on a journey to become more positive and happy this year!!! It’s great to have someone as your confidant.
4 – I still have 4 days left of summer vacation + we have off Friday 9/4 off…yes
5 – Went to see Emily Kinney in concert…she played Beth in The Walking Dead..she was really good!!! Also saw some of the other actors from TWD because it was a Walker Stalker convention.
6 – To continue on with #5, Fear the Walking Dead premiered on Sunday. Another show to DVR on Sunday nights and then make sure no one tells me about on Monday…love the new (and old) show.
7 – I probably say this every week, but I LOVE this blog. Always get great, supportive, positive comments. So uplifting..thanks TTOT community!!
8 – I have been writing in a gratitude journal every night before going to bed. It is so empowering and just makes you feel so good. Trying to continue to hardwire that happiness…focus on the good and really be present in it instead of taking it for granted.
9 – www.mystickyquotes.com…got these sticky notes that have motivational sayings on them. So awesome…you can stick them to your bathroom mirror, you computer screen, put them in lunches or students’ work. Such a great idea (I was sent them for free to share on social media, but they are something that I would buy and use all the time anyway). LOVE the positive messages. Check out the website:)
10 – I got my Books N Bloggers partner this week…can’t wait to send out my book picks for her and then receive mine in return. I love giving people little surprises that make their day. She prefers ebooks, as do I, so she wouldn’t be getting a physical package so I’m going to send a little care package too:)
Have a great week!!!
beet hummus!? How wonderful ! I didnt know it existed! Love beets! although my alias in blogworld is Ivy my actual name is Lydia and I NEVER see it … so #2 was especially sweet. Have a great weekend!
You have to try it…it is so yummy
Glad that you are almost ready for school. All the best for next week!
Thank you!!
We’ve got another week here of summer vacation before the kids go back to school. That said, I’m kind of grateful both my boys are beyond that point. They were never what you would call ‘model’ students.
Good Luck on your school year. Hope you are surrounded by positive people.
Thank you so much:)
What a lovely list, Kim! I’m lusting after the beet hummus and those stickers! 😉
TRY the beet hummus…soooooo good:)
I’ll have to look for beet hummus–I had never heard of it.
Finding gratitude everyday is a happy way to live!
Thanks for stopping by:)
Beet hummus is so good. I usually make my own, but I’ve heard Trader Joe’s has good products.
Hope your school year goes well. How nice that you have a classroom neighbor who is like-minded to share the journey!
I’d LOVE to know how you make your own beet hummus!!! I am a beet-a-holic…LOVE them. thanks for your kind words:)
Have I been here before? I think not. How have I missed you?
Best of luck in this new school year. I remember this time as a teacher. Now I’m just a parent. And in a complete panic. Glad you’ve got a supportive neighbor.
Well, I’m glad you were here:) Don’t worry about your child…they will be fine and YOU will be fine too:)
I wish that we had a Trader Joe’s in Canada. I miss out on all these amazing finds!
Good luck on your first day back to school! I was just praising teachers the other day. My son has been struggling with reading (he’s 7) and his wonderful awesome beautiful grade one teacher gave him a bucket list this summer to help him keep up with his reading. The incentive — a lunch date with her. You see, he absolutely adored her and that was more than enough to get him to read. No questions, no huffing, no puffing about it. So we’ve been reading all summer long so that he can have his lunch date with his Ms. Mc. She was a great teacher who went above and beyond.
You all do deserve your summer 🙂
Love those stickies!!
Trader Joe’s is the best..sorry you don’t have it north of the border. I hope that your son has a great 2nd grade year. It sounds like his first grade teacher is a peach:) Thanks for all your kind words.
I love pickled beets and Harvard beets, but I’ve never heard of beet hummus. Is it sweet at all? I always think of beets as being kind of sweet, but that’s probably because the ways I like to eat them includes plenty of sugar 🙂
What a nice week you’ve had! My classroom is about 95% ready for kids, too, but unfortunately, it will remain that way until the end of the year. I never seem to get that last 5% done, but I mean well.
Enjoy your last week of summer vacay!
I too LOVE Harvard and pickled beets…I could eat a whole jar at one sitting. The hummus is so yummy…I can’t really explain the taste though. If you like beets at all, you’ll love it. Good luck in your school year…I totally understand that last 5%…ugh:)
I’m going to have to look for the Beet Hummus at Trader Joe’s. I haven’t seen it here. It is good that you have a positive teacher neighbor. Being around positive people in your work environment makes a huge difference.
You can find beet hummus in the area with the other hummus…it’s near the cheeses, etc. Positive people rock!!!
Hope your week went GREAT!
yes it did!!!! thanks:)
Beet hummus is definitely on my ‘must try’ list now. I love hummus and I love beets so I’m pretty sure I would love it!
Hope you’re having an amazing long weekend!
I LOVE long weekends…especially when it’s 4 days…thanks.
